Our programs and services are very popular so space is limited.   If interested and space allows, you can call our main office for a FREE assessment to determine what programs or services would be available.

What is respite?

Respite care is planned care provided to a child or adult with special needs in order to provide temporary relief to families who are caring for a child or an adult. This provides temporary relief to those who are caring for family members.

When is respite offered?

Respite is offered every Saturday between 9a -6p at RecPlex.  Families may sign up for a maximum of 8 hours in one day.  Respite must be scheduled at least one week in advance to guarantee care if it’s available.  Care is offered on a first come, first serve basis.

Is there transportation offered?

Transportation is offered the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month.  This must be scheduled at least one week in advance by calling or e-mailing the TR office at TR@plprairie.com.  We also offer daily transportation to and from RecPlex.  Please call the office at 262-925-6747 for openings and fill out the transportation request form. Yes!  Our camp information can be found on our webpage at http://recplexonline.com/camps-recreation/discovery-summer-camp-for-special-needs

Do you offer programs for free?

No, all of our programs have a cost but there are outside funders who can help with costs.  For youth, please contact WI Compass at 608-692-2865 or http://www.compasswisconsin.org/contact-us/.

Do I have to be a member to participate?

No, almost all of our programs are offered with a member and non-member rate with the member rate being lower than the non-member rate.  If your loved one will be participating in a lot of programs, it most likely makes sense to get a membership but you are not required to do so.  Our personal training program does require membership in order to participate.
