Patriots Hockey School

 The program was developed to give busy families maximum flexibility while at the same time providing young players additional ice time.  Each week players develop their skills during practice (Tuesday/Friday) and execute them in cross-ice scrimmages on Sunday.  Attend as many sessions or as few as you want for one price.  Additional information can be found in the Play By Play.

Spring/Summer Hockey School Schedule

Starter Hockey, Fundamentals of Hockey, & Rink Rats

Tuesday   – 5:45-6:45pm   

Thursday – 5:45-6:45pm   

Sunday     – 2:30-3:30pm

 

Session Dates

Spring: Monday, May 21 - Sunday, July 8 (7 weeks)

Summer: Monday, July 9 - Sunday, August 26 (7 weeks)

Starter Hockey

Ages 4-8.  Maximum of 14 participants.  For players who are new to skating and have no prior hockey experience.  Students must be able to skate independently with some proficiency.  Prerequisite of Snow Plow Sam 2, Basic 1 or approval of the hockey director.  Helmet, gloves, elbow pads, shin pads and stick required (see our equipment rental program). 

 

Fundamentals of Hockey

Ages 5-12.  Maximum of 14 participants.  For players who are comfortable in the hockey position and can skate using both their edges.  Primary focus is developing the proper skating techniques.   Prerequisite of Starter Hockey.  Full equipment required (see equipment rental program). 

 

Rink Rats

Ages 6-12.  Maximum of 14 participants.  Skaters at this level sharpen the skills learned in Fundamentals of Hockey.  Initial focus is polishing the proper skating techniques and then shifts toward puck handling, pass and shooting.  Prerequisite of Fundamentals of Hockey.  Full equipment is required (see equipment rental program). 

 

Junior Patriots

Ages 6-12. Maximum of 20 participants.  This level focuses on strengthening puck handling, passing and shooting skills.   Skaters will be introduced to basic rules as well as positioning.   The Mini Patriots program prepares skaters for Patriots House Hockey.  Prerequisite of Rink Rats or equivalent.  Full equipment required (see our equipment rental program).
