The triathlon starts and finishes in the picturesque setting of Prairie Springs Park. Lake Andrea, a sparkling 100-acre spring fed lake, will serve as the venue for the swim portion of our race. The bike course will take you through our progressive urban community set among a rural country setting. The run course will take you though Prairie Springs Park, a 425-acre park that surrounds Lake Andrea. All volunteer and participant parking will be off site in specified parking lots. After you park, you can catch a FREE shuttle bus or take the 1/2-mile warm-up walk to the race site. Shuttle busses will run from 4:00am- NOON.

• The Swim Start is on the east side of Lake Andrea.
• ALL athletes MUST report to the swim start 15 minutes prior to their scheduled wave start.
• The Sprint Distance waves will follow the international waves.
• The start line is adjacent to the transition area.
• Lake Andrea is a spring feed lake. Water temperature will be in the mid to lower 70's.
• Decisions regarding wetsuits will be announced at the course talks on Saturday, June 23, 2012.
• The Sprint Distance course is an out and back, following the first leg of the International Distance course.
• The start and finish are on a sandy beach.
• Lifeguards, kayaks and platforms line the entire course.
• The course is defined with orange buoys. Buoys are always on the swimmers right side.
• Start waves are decided and divided by age and gender.
• Pick up wave start sheets at the packet pick up.
• Swimmers are required to wear a colored swim cap.
• The bike transition is adjacent to the swim start and exit.
• Bikes MUST be WALKED in the Transition area. Mount & dismount zones are outside the transition area.
• Bikes MAY NOT be removed from the bike transition until the last bike has completed the bike course and exited the transition area for the start of the run.
• Anyone removing a bike from transition before the announcement is made to remove bikes will be automatically disqualified.
Bike Route: 20k bike
• The bike course is on gently rolling country roads with minimal turns on the Sprint course.
• The road surface is excellent, a mix of asphalt and concrete.
• One aid station, with a replacement fluid is included on the bike course.
• A combination of course marshals and Police are stationed throughout the course and at all turns.
• Each turn is also spray painted.
• Bikers are required to wear a strapped helmet and radios are not allowed.
• All bikes are required to display a bike number.
Run Route: 5k run
• The run course is flat and fast.
• Water and replacement fluids are available 3 times on the Sprint course.
• The International Distance course also winds around Lake Andrea.
• The Finish line is located in Prairie Springs Park on the east side of Lake Andrea.
• Water, fluid replacement & fresh fruit will be provided.
• Chip Removal: Please return your chips in the chip removal area.
• There is a $35 fee for chips NOT returned!
