The Pleasant Prairie Youth Elite and Junior Elite Cup is a qualifier for the Youth and Junior National Championships in West Chester, Ohio on July 30- July 31, 2022.

Field Limits

The maximum number of athletes per division is only 75 athletes. These fields are expected to fill up quickly so sign up early. We will maintain a waitlist that we will actively work to make sure we accommodate as many athletes as possible.

Youth/Junior Development Series Overview

The USAT Junior and Youth Series is the premiere triathlon race series in the United States for athletes ages 13 to 19. Consisting of national-caliber competitions each spring and summer, the series prepares athletes for draft-legal competition and qualification to US teams competing at international championships. Each event has two competition categories - a Junior Cup (16-19yrs) and a Youth Cup (13-15yrs) - in which athletes are grouped by age and gender. Courses are designed to mimic Olympic style racing, with multiple laps and high speed transitions, making races exciting to watch for families, friends, and teammates. The series finishes with the USAT Youth and Junior National Championships in West Chester, Ohio, on July 31- August 1, 2021, for which athletes must qualify at one of the, including Pleasant Prairie. The USAT Junior Development Series is officiated using international-standard draft-legal rules published by the International Triathlon Union by officiating teams selected by USA Triathlon.

Qualification for the Junior National Championship

The top 15 Junior and Youth finishers at the Pleasant Prairie Youth and Junior Cup will earn the opportunity to compete at the USAT Youth and Junior National Championships in West Chester, Ohio, on July 30-31, 2022. Spots will roll down past athletes who have already qualified and athletes representing other national federations. Rules/Officiating

The USAT Junior Series is officiated using international-standard draft-legal rules published by the International Triathlon Union by officiating teams selected by USA Triathlon. We will provide a summary of rules to athletes the week of the event.

Race Age

According to USA Triathlon rules, athletes will compete in the age group based on their age on 12/31/2022.
