Youth Hockey Leagues

The RecPlex Ice Arena offers both house and travel hockey leagues. There are two seasons for both organizations. The Fall season runs September-February and the Spring season runs April-May.

Vipers House Hockey
House hockey is a player's next step after graduating from Hockey School or a developmental program. House Hockey teams compete in the NSYHL (North Shore Youth Hockey League).

Players will participate in an evaluation session in which the hockey director and head coaches will evaluate players based on the following criteria: skating, puck control, physical ability, shot strength, play making ability, work ethic and coachability. Coaches may weigh these differently based on their coaching philosophy. Players are assigned a ranking, and teams are selected with the intent on keeping teams balanced and the skill level evenly distributed throughout each team.

Vipers Travel Hockey

The Vipers Hockey Club is a tryout based travel hockey organization with its home rinks at both the RecPlex (Pleasant Prairie, WI) and Top Shelf Ice Arena (Gurnee, IL). Each team practices three times a week with two team practices and a skills session at BTE Hockey. Vipers teams will typically play 3-4 tournaments per season with 1 or 2 games each week. The Vipers Hockey club is for players looking for advanced development, and high level competition. This level of hockey is for players that already have hockey experience and are looking to quickly enhance their skills. The Vipers Hockey Club offers multiple teams at each age group and teams are tiered based on tryouts.
