Our Philosophy 
Our Therapeutic Recreation (TR) programs play an important role in promoting and maintaining physical, social, emotional and mental health development. Our mission is to provide recreational activities for individuals with physical/intellectual disabilities.  These activities will help those who may not know their inner abilities to succeed and adaptively achieve!

Adult Day Program
Discovery is a year-round program for adults with disabilities. The program goal is to engage our participants with daily activities and experiences that will encourage social, emotional, physical and mental growth through recreation. Discovery is staffed at a 4:1 ratio. Staff are trained to assist with personal cares, ADL’s and provide support and care that a second family would provide. A pre-placement assessment is required with the client before starting any TR program or service.

How to Register for Therapeutic Recreation Online

Prior to program registration, an assessment and intake are done for any new program client.  This ensures that our staff are trained to meet the needs of the participant and that the participant understands all the rules and policies for participation.  The following forms

Weather/Program Cancellations

Weather Cancellations will be posted to the TR Facebook page no later than 1 hour before program opening. (5:30a weekdays, 8a Saturdays)

A fun run 5k that supports the Therapeutic Recreation program. The event will start and finish at the Beach Pavilion on the west side of Lake Andrea.

Cost: $35 individual, $125 family of 4

Donations to the program will also be accepted.

General Information:

• Packet pick-up can be done ahead of time through the Therapeutic Recreation department starting Wednesday, September 18
• Race start time: 9:00am, Race Day packet pick up will start at 8:00am on 9/21
• Race is for people of all ages and all abilities.  Portions of the course are off pavement. 
• Please park in the parking lot south of the beach pavilion
• This is a non-timed event
• All registrants receive a dated commemorative event t-shirt
• Completion of the 5k can be any time prior to the event and does not need to be on 9/21.
